The Florida Office of Drug Control is located within the Executive Office of the Governor and has worked with the Office of Planning and Budget to develop Florida's Drug Control Strategy. Florida’s 2009 Drug Control Strategy builds on the success of Florida’s earlier Drug Control Strategy launched in 1999. The agency’s strategic vision is a future characterized by safe and healthy families and communities. Chapter Two that begins on page 44 defines risks, protective factors and strategies for prevention.
